In August 2022 I painted a mural for GAU, the Galeria de Arte Urbana of Lisbon’s municipality, on Calçada da Glória, one of the main streets of Lisbon, the steep one the Glória funicular climbs.

Then I 3-D scanned the area and made an animation merging 3-D scans of my sculptures with places I visited in Portugal, including the Museu Nacional do Azulejo. I also used the photograph of the mural as the starting image in Deforum, the open-source AI animation model that went viral in 2022, and made a few experiments with it.

It was a small experiment. It’s all so cute now, looking back.
